Prairie Day School
An independent day school drawn as a low village of timber pavilions, each grade gathered around its own daylit court — architecture as a curriculum for the senses.
Edina, MN54,000 sq ftIn Design

Rather than a single block, we proposed a loose village of one- and two-story pavilions, so every classroom reaches daylight on two sides and opens to a planted court.
A timber structure keeps the carbon low and the spaces warm; circulation is mostly outdoor under deep eaves, returning the prairie landscape to the heart of the school.
